Abstract:

The process in which the patient is admitted to a special nursing unit or hospital to fulfill a particular medical diagnostic or surgical operation and remains there for a short time until full recovery after surgery is defined as one day surgery clinic. Every unit is organized according to the internal regulations of the hospital, within it operates. A critical criterion for safe and efficient operation of day surgery clinic is adequate staff with the appropriate quantitative and qualitative force. The percentage of patients who need to stay in hospital after one day surgery clinic due to surgical intervention or anesthesia complications or social reasons is considered as one of the strongest indicators of quality of care.
